Vocal Music Scholars Education Program
Open to rising freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors (Fall of 2023)
Open to singers in all sections
up to 3 singers per section
Opportunity to perform with adult singers
Opportunity to perform with a full orchestra at every concert
All performances in Montgomery County
2 Concerts a year
All singers receive a stipend at the end of the concert season
Attend weekly rehearsals on Tuesday evenings from 7:00-9:00pm at Calvary United Methodist Church, Ambler PA.
Scholars are allowed to miss one rehearsal a month with the exception of concert week
Vocalization: Vocalize to hear both upper and lower range.
Repertoire: Perform one piece of your choosing. Can be an Aria, Art Song, Folk Song, movement from an Oratorio, or a Ballad from the musical theater repertoire. No pop songs or music theater pieces that require belting. No more than 5 mins.
Sight-Reading and ear training: You will be asked to sight-read a piece. Up to 10 measures and a pitch-matching exercise.

Once your application is accepted, you will receive an email to schedule your audition time.
Auditions dates and times:
Wednesday, April 19: 6:30-8:30pm
Tuesday, April 25: 6:30-9:30pm
Location: Calvary Methodist Church, 16 E Park Ave, Ambler, PA 19002
If accepted into the program, players will be REQUIRED to attend all rehearsals, dress rehearsals, and concerts.

Festival of Carols : Concert with the MCCO Chorale and Orchestra
Trinity Lutheran Church, Lansdale
Concert: Sunday, December 3 - 3:00pm
Dress Rehearsal: Saturday, December 2 (9:00am-12:00pm)
Spring Concert - Featuring Mendelssohn's rarely performed and exuberant Symphony No. 2 for Choir, Orchestra, and vocal soloists
Upper Dublin High School Performing Arts Center (TBD)
Concert: Sunday, April 14- 3:00pm or Sunday April 21 -3:00pm (Date will be determined when venue is solidified)
Dress Rehearsal: Saturday April 13 9:00am-12:00pm or Sunday, April 20 9:00am-12:00pm (Date will be determined when venue is solidified)
